The Southern Nomads Caravan Club S.A. Inc. was formed in November 2001
All club members comprise the committee with a core executive of President, Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, who are elected by financial members at the AGM held at time chosen by the executive within five months of the end of the financial year.
The Club is an incorporated body and is run within the rules of the Constitution.
We have 12 rallies per year, one of which is a seven day event which may be within the state or interstate.
All rallies are chosen and approved by the members and are booked by the Club Secretary at least 12 months in advance.
Every other year a combined Club rally is held at a time chosen by the Association of Caravan Clubs of SA of which our club is affiliated.
Every third year a National Rally of Caravan Clubs is held at a location and time chosen by the State which is allocated the rally on a rotational basis and under the auspices of Association.
Any person wishing to join the Southern Nomads Caravan Club SA Inc. is invited to attend a rally and at the completion of three rallies, the applicant will be invited to join.
This caravan club is not over organised and most but not all members are retired and enjoy travelling.
It is necesary to retain membership by attending three rallies per year and be financial.
Outings are in the form of a meal at a venue while on rally or a tour of an area in which we are rallying.
The members are a friendly group of people from all over the metro and country areas and assist each other in overcoming caravan problems and towing safety.
The size of the club is determined by the members at an AGM is currently set at 24 member caravans.
The Club newsletter "The Nomads Natter" is published each month prior to the next rally and informs members of the program for the next rally, a report on the previous rally, information on the area and also carries infromation on safety, etc. which may be pertinent to our Club members. "The Nomads Natter" is also uploaded to the members section of the Clubs website.
Other positions held by members are: Editor, Safety Officer, ACCSA representative, Returning Officer and Webmaster.
